Should I Be Worried About Flu In 2 Year Old?

My son has the flu. He was supposed to get his flu vaccine at his 2 year appointment january 24th. We have been giving him Ibprofen, and have been trying to get him to rest, drink fluids, and eat things like saltine crackers. Is there something we should be looking for that would justify a trip to the E.R?
