Should I Be Worried About Abdominal Pain And Fever After Recovering From Pneumonia?
My 6 yr old daughter is recovering from pneumonia. Because she has lost 10 lbs and complains frequently of abdominal pain, she was put on Prevacid 3 days ago for gastritis. Her body temp has been consistently low for the last 7 days (96.2 avg.) Is this normal to experience during recovery?
Hello She (your daughter recovered from pneumonia ) has developed hyper acidity or gastritis due to antibiotics used in the treatment of pneumonia and also by fever caused by pneumonia . Low temperature is a common thing post pneumonia so need not to worry . Now for abdominal pain , do as . Try raising the head of bed of your daughter about 4 inches with blocks. It might also help to avoid eating or drinking for 2 hours before she lie down. To help control stomach acid one should not eat chocolates or spicy or greasy foods like pizza, burger . Give her some antacid syrup ( if oxetacaine contain very good ) but if pain is sever ( in abdomen ) then she may need pantaloc-D once or twice in day till recovery. Hope this information will help. Good luck.
