Should Combi E170 Test Be Done After A Specific Period Of Time For Accurate Result?

Hi Doctor, I had a combi E170 test 2 months after exposure (exactly 11 weeks). And the result was negative 0.219. I have a concern that whether I need to conduct another test 5 or 06 months after exposure? I m at 5th month after exposure. Thanks and Regards,

Hi there,
I understand your concern,
Combi E170 is approximately 97% sensitive at 11 weeks, but in 3% cases it may take up to 6 months for antibodies to develops, so just to rule out any remote possibility of HIV I would advise you a repeat test at 6 months and if it is negative then just relax and not to forget using barrier method of contraception in future.
