Should I Be Worried About Rd Urine After Urethral Surgery?

I had surgery to enlarge my eurethra a week ago and this morning my urine was red. My recovery has been going well and I started back on my blood thinner Xarelto yesterday. Is this anything to worry about? Should I contact my surgeon or primary doctor?

Good Day and thank you for being with Healthcare Magic!

If you have bleeding weeks after your surgery and on the resumption of the blood thinners then yes I would contact your doctor whether it is safe to stop your blood thinners to stop the bleeding.

It is not normal for the blood in the urine to come back. In the meantime drink plenty of water to avoid clots inside your bladder that may possibly block your urination.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://www.HealthcareMagic.com/doctors/dr-manuel-c-see-iv/66014 I would gladly help you. Best wishes
