Should I Be Concerned For The Child Who Drank Dettol And Has Nausea And Stomach Pain?

Hi,
my kid 2 years 9 months old consumed dettol. This is happened on before 10 days.
after consuming i asked my son to gargil and suddenly ran to hospital.
doctor said that he doesnt drink more,so ask me to observation for 6 hours.
my son is very active and normal.Next day he had vomit sensation and vomited the breakfast whole(He had cold too while caugh he start vomiting).I picked him to hospital.doctor advised to take xray.
we took xray and it is normal
Nowadays he is saying stomach pain ,doctor subscrised gelusil like syrup but im have fear ...
i do no wt to do?

anything serious....pls advice me...

Hi,

I have gone through your query.
Dettol has corrosive action inside gastrointestinal tract. The slight amount of dettol might have eroded stomach lining without any bleeding. As the vomiting has stopped, pain may take some days to subside.
Continue with gelusil or better to give him Mucaine gel. It will reduce pain.
Avoid giving him spicy food for few days and keep him well hydrated. There is nothing serious.
