Should I Be Concerned By Circular Blood Stains In Pillow Drained From Ear?

Hello. When I awoke this morning there were two circular blood stains (about the size of a dime) on my pillow, almost side by side. I had awakened during the night to urinate a couple of times but didn't notice the stains until this morning. As there was no other evident source of the blood, I gently wiped my ear with a Q-tip and found very tiny particles of blood. I sleep on my side and the location of the stains corresponds with where my right ear would have rested. Is this a cause for concern? There is no blood in the ear now and I feel fine. I am a 69 year old female on no medication other than some vitamin supplements. I had my gallbladder removed laparascopically about 5 weeks ago but recovered nicely with no negative after-effects.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi. The blood spots on a pillow coming from the ears needs a checking by an ENT surgeon as some specific bacteria can give to rise to this. If painless, it may be coming from a polyp from the ear. autoscopy will reveal the diagnosis , to help in treatment.
