Sharp Pain At The Base Of The Neck. Pain Worsens On Inhaling. X-ray Report Normal. Advice?

Hi
I get a very sharp pain at the base of the right side of my neck which travels upward every time I deeply inhale. The pain becomes worse If I stretch my neck to the left side and deeply inhale. This
has been going on for 6 months and has stopped
me from doing routine exercise. I have gotten x
rays and there were no findings. Please help!

Hi

It seems that one of the muscles on the right side of the back of neck may be tensed or spasmodic. Some stretching exercises under the guidance of a physiotherapist may help.
