Severe, Persistant Cold. History Of Sore Throat, Headache, Nausea. Show A Way

I have a very bad cold. it started with a sore throat (48 hrs) and then progressed to a heavy cold/feverish symptons/headache/nausea and as a result , up 3 times a night for relief - cold tablets, throat losenges, water, toilet. (last 48 hours) . I have tried the following Pharmacy remedies/brands - Codral Relief (no relief),Nurofen (a little relief) and Panadol (the best relief so far particularly headache relief). Why does panedol seem to work best for me? Are there any other across the counter drugs that might be better? My cold on a 1-10 scale (10 being severe) is a 10! I get one every year round this time and it really hits me hard. Thankyou. Regards Kevin McNamara
