Severe Pain In The Arm And Shoulders. Pain Worse On Smoking. History Of Being Treated For Pulmonary Embolism. Need To Go To Emergency?
2 days ago I had this horrible pain in my right arm. From the shoulder down. It was so bad that I couldn't lift my arm. And it stayed for a good 5-10 minutes. And ever since then it seems like after I smoke a cigarette the pain comes back. But not as bad. And now my breathing is getti g bad And I did get treated for a PE a few months ago. Should I go to the er?
It seems that you are having anginal pain that is refering to arm and shoulder. It may be because of the vasoconstrictor effect of chemicals like NO produced after smoking. These chemical constrict the blood vessels supplying the heart producing the pain.
Please get investigated with tests like ECG, echocardiography etc, to know the cause.
Yes going to the ER would be a better idea.
