Severe pain in knee with swelling. Burning sensation in toes and foot. Is it Gout?

I have been to my doctor three times about my knee which has been swollen and painful for nearly 5 months. I ve been sent for an x ray on my knee. My toes on one foot also burn and are uncomfortable. Walking can sometimes be very uncomfortable. The x ray did not show up anything. The doctor has recommended physio but I feel that my condition remains undiagnosed. Could I have gout do you think?
