Severe Deep Wound In Foot, Got Stitches, Ankle Area Pain. What Can Make Me Feel Better?

I had a pretty severe deep wound when glass got into my the back of my foot. I went to the ER and had it stitched (5 total). The nurse told me to have them out in 7 to 10 days. I am set to have them out on Monday (day 9). My problem is that the ankle area is hurting badly and feels like it's pulling. Everyone says the nurse did a bad job and made them too tight. I am concerned over the pain and if they will be able to get the stitches out.

Pain in stitch area may be due to infection ,tight suture or due to actual injury.
First two are very rare when done properly.
You need to take analgesic and antibiotic medicine for it.
You feel that after taking medicine no improvement is there ,better to consult doctor.
Keep the leg raise from bed.
It is better to take rest and avoid heavy activity.
