Sensitive Teeth, Swelling In Lip. History Of Stitches To Repair Cut On Upper Lip Due To Injury. Time To Heal?

I was injured 7 weeks ago playing hockey. I needed 11 stitches to repair a deep cut on my upper lip (a direct hit by a puck) . The stitches were removed about 8 days after. One tooth had to be repositioned, others are still sensitive (I was wearing a mouth guard). The swelling on the upper lip has decreased. However, the lip stills swells (flairs) up frequently. The whole area still feels uncomfortable. I have been careful with what and how I eat. I am a 61 year old, non smoking male who is very active. I am usually a quick healer. How long will it take before everything starts feeling (looking) normal again? Thank You.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The stitches in the lip are likely to heal in 7-10 days. Since the face is a highly vascular area, the healing is much faster in this area. You can take serratiopeptidase to decrease the swelling.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
