Senior Citizen Having Degenerative Osteoarthritis, Sciatica, Bursitis In Hip. Recommended Hip Replacement Surgery? Recommendations?

I saw a Chiropractor for Sciatica and he had me get x-rays. The report came back that my right hip collapsed and was bone on bone. Went to see an Orthopedic specialist, he took x-rays and said I had 3 things going on besides my hip. Degenerative osteoarthritis, sciatica, bursitis in my hip and my hip, partially bone on bone. He wants me to go to a surgery center so he can give me a shot in the groin. Said it may or may not help but will by me some time. Said I would have to have hip replacement surgery in my lifetime, I am 70 yrs old and totally confused!

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
hallo dear friend ,thanks for writing to HCM
i hv studied your case

in old age these kind of picture is due to degeneration process
yes joint replacement surgery will give you relief to your hip pain
it will give you better mobility
but will not answer to your spine pain
spine pain will go on increasing day by day
so for better mobility you have to solve both problem

epidural injection in spine can control your spine problem
you need some neurotropics like pregabalin
and calcium suppliment with vit D

avoid lifting weights
sit with taking support to your back
continue spine strenghthening exersizes
you may need MRI SPINE

hope this information will help you
