Semen Analysis Shows "Rapid Progressive Motility, Total Sperm Counts Can My Wife Conceive In Normal Way?

Hi,

Recently I have gone through Semen Analysis and found below result,

Motility
Rapid Progressive Motility 5%
Sluggish Progress 10%
Non Progressive 25%
Immotile 60%

Total Sperm Counts 99millions/cu.mm > 20 millions cu.mm

is there any possibility of my wife conceiving in normal way?

What would be the treatment for Asthenospermia?

Regards
Raj

Hello
Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have what is called as asthenospermia meaning there by that the percentage of active motile sperm is 5% only.
The active progressive motile sperms are the sperms which are important from the point of effective fertilization of a female egg to result in pregnancy.

The normal accepted value of these active progressive sperms to have natural pregnancy by infertility clinics all over the world is minimum 12-15%.

Unfortunately there are no medication that can improve the motility of sperms.

Please consult qualified Infertility specialist to explore the possibility of pregnancy with the help of newly assisted reproductive techniques like IVF or ICSI.

Welcome to HCM.
Your sperm count is normal but active motile sperm count is very low.
Take oral medicines which contains mutivitamin,vit-c,vit-e,selenium,zinc,copper,etc.
Go for complete investigations to diagnose underlying condition like orchitis, epididymis, prostatitis, hydrocele testis, balanopsthitis,
Eat nutritious diet,do regular exercise and yoga.
Also go for your wife's investigations like CBC,RBS,TSH,TORCH,S.b12 and usg ovulation study.
You can also go for IUI method with your semen and if not succeeded than go for IUI with donor semen.
Keep in touch with your doctor.
