Ruptured Eardrum, No Drainage. Advised Self Healing. Is Playing Hockey Safe?
Hi, my daughter ruptured her ear drum while flying with a head cold . She plays hockey at college. She went into urgent care and they said there was no drainage. I spoke with ENT clinic and they explained that these ruptures heal themselves and she has an appointment three weeks from now. However, I was wondering if it was safe for her to play hockey while this is healing? YYYY@YYYY
There is no problem to play. It is safe.
Take care to avoid infection - use ear plugs while bathing.
Small perforations heal by themselves. If it does not or if it is big, they can repair during your coming appointment - no hurry.
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
