Rough Dry Skin On Knees, Knuckles, Thick Build Up Of Grey. What Medication To Be Taken?

I have a thick built up of grey, rough dry skin on my knees, and my small fingers knuckles, I thought it was lime poisen from working with cement with no gloves.
My doctor gave me a bunch of free samples of some thing, and it cleared up in no time. I did not save a packet and my doctor wants $125.00 for another visit. I can not get the name of the ointment He gave me.
What was it?
