Respected Doctor,
I have perforation in ear drum in both the ears since childhood. Surgical operation (Tympanoplasty) was done in Manipal Hospital 3 years ago, but the problom of hearing loss re-occurred within 1 year of operation. I recently showed a doctor and he said in both ears the ear drums have almost vanished, due to which I have hearing issue.
Scenario:
- While doing operation doctor found my ear bone(cartilage) degenerated, hence, replaced with a new cheaper indian-made cartilage
- While doing operation doctor found that one of the ear had cholesteotama, which was cleared. I doubt, cholesteotama might have built up again after 3 years.
- Having hearing problem due to above reasons.
- My age is 31.
My queries:
- Is it possible to investigate the ear bone(cartilages) for it strength or weakness without performing any cuts/operations?
- Is it possible to clear off cholsteotama that seems to accumulate in inner ear, past the ear drum without any operation? Note: I do not want to go for surgery again.
Thanks in advance.
Warm regards,
