Redness Around Dog Bite. Prescribed Antibiotic Creams

Good day My son got bitten by our dog a week ago, a small puncture of the skin, he was treated with Oral Antibiotics and Bethadine, however after a day i noticed redness around the wound and a blister when taken to the doctor he advised that because i bandaged the wound and the heat the blister and redness occured he gave my son some antibiotic creams and something for the redness but there is now like a rash around the area which he got bitten

hi..thanks for your query.
It is common to see many people reacting to occlusive bandages due to the adhesive material present in the bandage.To treat it,you had to avoid any similar products in future.
Any such allergic contact dermatitis is treated with topical steroids and oral anti histaminics. You should consult your dermatologist for the prescription of the steroid cream.There are several combination creams containing steriod and antibiotics, which may need to be applied.
