Red Splotches And White Heads On Neck And Back, Itchy. What Is The Cause?

I have developed lots of red splotches on my neck . It goes all the way around my neck, even in the back, but it s worse on the left side. It is slightly itchy once in a while, but not too often. Some of the splotches will develop white heads in them. I have not changed any soaps, shampoos, cleansers, etc recently, so I m stumped as to what caused it.

Hello
Welcome!
I would be pleased to answer your question .

From the description of the lesions they seem to be either a photosensitive dermatitis or contact dermatitis.
It can occur localised as in your case.

Here is what will help:

1. Clobetasol propionate cream : apply over the affected twice a day for 14 days . Use a Good Sunscreen over the areas.
2. Tab Claritin 10 mg twice a day for 14 days, then once a day for 6-8 weeks. Initially the dose can be increased to 2 tablets taken twice a day if there is insufficient relief in itching.

Lastly keep the affected areas as well moisturized as possible with a moisturizer of your choice.
Also make sure you avoid direct sunexposure on the area affected.
Please feel free to ask if you have any queries.
