Recurrent Vaginal Infections. Burning After Sex. Frequent Urge To Urinate. What To Do?

I continue to have vaginal infections and can t seem to stop them. I live in a very hot region and air conditions are few and far between. My PCP told me it was due to the heat but now I am having burning after sex with my husband. The UTI that the doctor says I am having does not even come with the normal pain just the constant feeling of needing to pee. What should I do? I do not want to continue taking medications

Hi ! From your history of burning after sex and frequent urge to urinate, it seems that you have got a pelvic infection which is giving rise to persistent urinary tract infection. Another possibility is that the infection is causing cross infection to your husband, who is transmitting the same infection to you again, as treatment was given for you only and not for your husband.

If I would have been your doctor, I would suggest simultaneous clinical examination and investigation for both you and your husband, and treat both at the same time after seeing the results of the tests like urine culture and sensitivity, culture and sensitivity of vaginal swab, etc. Also a little care about the personal hygiene for both will be rewarding.

UTI may not have pain or burning urination, but is sometimes indicated only by increased frequency of urination.Once the infection if confirmed, I am afraid you have to go for antibiotic medication depending on the report of culture and sensitivity.

Wishing you an early recovery. Good luck.
