Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My symptoms are as follows:Dark orange urine--my primary care Dr tested and found excessive sugar-- no infection A lot of itching esp on arms--went to dermatologist-- she diag as pinched nerve Nausea and now diareaha--trouble digesting food w/o discomfort I am diabetic--blood sugars in 250 range--appt with endo on Thurs I have suffered with back and hip chronic pain for 15 yrs+ on pain meds Should I go to emergency room or work thru it until Thurs. Pls respond.
My first advise is to keep your blood sugars in range with the help of medication prescribed by the endocrinologist and lifestyle changes. The high blood glucose levels can explain all the symptoms you mentioned. For instance, diabetic patients have reduced gastric motility and stasis of food which can lead to indigestion and diarrhea eventually. In my view, if you visit emergency room you will be treated with medications to lower your blood sugar levels and help you with dealing with symptoms better.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ayesha Shareef, General & Family Physician
