Hi,

Noted the history about a 23 years old male having history of primary complex when was one year old, this is tuberculosis, has now blocked ear with echoing on right side.
- If the hearing loss with echoing is recent the probable causes are as follows:
- The commonest being fluid accumulation in the middle ear cavity with intact ear drum
- This cases the echoing and blocked ear feeling as the ear drum can not move due to pressure

I would advise the following in such a situation:
- First of all, get started on an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen if it suits you
- Decongestant- oral as well as nasal drops
- Steam inhalation
- Do not blow the nose
- Consult your doctor and get an appointment for an ENT surgeon
- Tympanotomy that is incision of ear drum to suck the fluid

It is the best way if the problem is few days old as this allow very early and complete recovery in most of the cases when added with proper antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and decongestant.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
