Recently Had A Miscarriage. Due To Gestational Diabetes. Test Taken After That Showing Varying Sugar Level. Prediabetes?
Hi Doctor, I am 28 years old. Recently I had a miscarriage and my doctor said, it was due to my gestational diabetes which showed GTT - 293. She asked me to repeat the test after 3 days of my miscarriage. GTT was 240. I went to a diabetes doctor. He asked me to wait for a week and check the sugar levels again. Fasting was 103 and post was 110. My random count after a 15 days was 125. Then again a random test after a 15 days showed 150. Am i suffering from prediabetes. If yes, what are the steps am supposed to take?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vidya KR's Response
Hi thanks for the query. I hope you are not on any drugs and not suffering from any disorder. To consider as pre diabetic we want both fasting and post prandial sugar level. Since you had gestational diabetes the chances of getting type 2 DM is more. So I suggest you to get done GTT. That's to diagnose diabetes. And you have to start dieting and regular exercise. For diet consult your nutritionist. These two will take care of your sugar level and keep looking into your sugar level once in 3 months. I hope I answered your query. If satisfied kindly close the query. I wish you a good health. Regards Dr. Vidya.
