Reason For Hair Suddenly Becoming Extremely Oily?

MY friends and I just went on a trip to Las vegas and to put it mildly a three day drinking binge. On the fourth day upon stopping my hair became extremely oily and thin. Could this be the bodies way of releasing the toxins? The oily build up lasted a few days and some of my hair looked extremely diffuse. The oil has since stopped but it seems some of the texture in the hair has changed. This confuses me.

Hello,

As per your case history, you are suffering from Seborrheic dermatitis.

My treatment advice is:
1. Avoid applying hair oil for at least 30 days.
2. Apply an antifungal lotion like Clotrimazole lotion twice daily on affected part.
3. Take an antihistamine medicine like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral fluconazole taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
