Rash On Forearm, Taken Avil. Correct Dose?

Dear Doctor, What is the correct dose for Avil 25? I developed a rash on my forearm about 4 days ago. I started a course of Avil 25 tablets (two per day for two days) and the problem seems to be controlled but not yet fully so. I would like to know, should I continue today and complete the course of 6 tablets? A.C.Bose KOLKATA 12.9.2012

Hi,

Thanks for your query.

The correct dose for AVIL for adult and children of more than 12 years of age is 25 mg tabs thrice (three times) daily.

I think you should complete the dose or may continue until the allergic rashes persists. But if side effect appears in the form of drowsyness, GI symptoms, dry mouth you may discontinue the tablet otherwise you should complete the course.

Thank you.
Regards,
Dr Arnab Maji
