Prescribed Omnacortil To Child For Chest Congestion. Also Taking Asthalin, Duolin. Change In Behavior Seen. Medication Effect?

Hi Doctor,

My child is 11 months old and administered 5ml of omnacortil syrup, once in the morning yesterday and once in afternoon yesterday. He was given the syrup and MOX for chest congestion. He is also on Asthalin + Duolin and on asthalin puff (huff puff kit from Cipla)

He is now acting a bit aggressive and excited and i feel that is not his normal behaviour.

Would this change be due to omnacortil? or any drug i mentioned?
Would you help me understand of there was any problem in his medication above?
Any help on this regards would be of great help.

Many Thanks,
Shaiju Thomas

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Dear Shaiju.

Your child seems to be suffering from bronchial asthma.. as doctor has prescribed oral steroids to her.

My concern is your child is on Asthalin and duolin.. both of them contains salbutamol. Duolin has also ipratropium bromide in it.

Salbutamol and Ipratropium causes the types of side effects you are describing.. she might be having some hand tremors too.

She needs a dose adjustment.
