Prescribed MEB-SR For IBS. Vomiting, Loose Motion. Blood And Mucus In Stool. Worried
hello doctor,
Couple of months ago I suffered acute gastroenteritis due to food poisoning. Later my GP said that i have Colitis..was on medication and finally i was diagnosed for having IBS. My GP had prescribed MEB-SR capsules. After a week my bowel habits were back to normal. Has been a month since i turned normal. A couple of days before i had been out to a party, had a cup of beer and had oily foods. Few hours later i vomited. And had an urgency to have bowel movmnts. Developed loose motions.
Next day morning i went back to my GP.. he prescribed me antibiotics, MEB-SR and probiotics. Has been a day since i started the course. I now pass hard stools with very little traces of blood and white mucus sticking on to the surface.
AM much worried about my health..Please advice me on what to do..much woried about this..Want to put an end to it..

thank you for consulting HCM,happy to answer you.As per your history you have told that you ate food from outside so may be the symptoms mentioned by you are because of food poisoning and i think traces of blood are due to the drugs prescribed by you to decrease your bowel movements and they will harden your stools.Avoid eating from outside and drink more water if your symptoms persists consult your gp again and explain your problem in detail.THANK YOU.
