Portal Hypertension By Birth. Multiple Surgery Done. Cause Of Redness And Bad Odor Coming From Scars?

I am a 57 year old male, with numerous health issues, mainly portal hypertension which I was born with. I have had multiple suguries all in the abdominal region. Here is my question. What would cause my old scars to turn red, also there is a strange odor coming from them. These scars are from surguries performed over 50 years ago.

Old scars should not emit odour or show change of colour.
It could mean infection nearby.
An examination – if necessary biopsy – is necessary...
