Pins And Needles In The Mustache Area, Sharp Pain, Contracting Muscles. Is It Due To Hot Weather?

Hi, just want quick info. I have no sores. My upper lip (not the lip itself but the mustache area of the face) gets pins and needles. It s sharp annoying pain and it s often felt if I contract that muscle, it feels like I have fiber glass wedged in the skin there. sharp pins and needles, it started some months after I moved to a very hot climate area. Occasionally I get the same effect on my temple area or elsewhere in my face but very seldom, the upper lip mustache area is common and consistent and I would like to solve this. thank you

Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to:
1. Neuropathy
2. Dietary deficiency of certain nutrients like Iron, Vit B6, Vit B12, Folic acid, etc. which help in blood formation and nerve conduction.
3.Systemic causes like diabetes or hypertension
4. Hypocalcemia- decrease in calcium levels in the body
5. Metabolic & Hormonal causes

Though symptomatic relief can be obtained by administration of nervigenic agents like Vit B6, Vit B12, etc., the underlying cause neds to be treated.

So, kindly consult a Neurologist & get a proper clinical examination done, including nerve conduction studies.
Investigations like complete blood count, estimation of blood pressure & blood sugar levels will be helpful to rule out any pathological cause for the symptoms.

There is no need to worry, you will be fine.
Take care.
