Persistent Cough With Mucus, Itching, Chest Pain. Chest X-ray Normal. Causes For Symptoms?

i have been coughing for over 10 days now...its a presistant cough with some mucus and an itch ...i also sweat at night and it even wakes me up...for 3 days now i have sever pain in my center chest and on right side in ribs and inner breastbone...it hurts ans burns and feels very raw when i cough...i had a chest xray 2 dayas ago but was told my xrays are fine and chest sounds clear...what could this be? YYYY@YYYY

thanks for your query at hcm.
chest pain during the cough can be due to plueritis.
it means inflammation of pleura ,its structure that is covering lung. when ever pleura is inflammed it will cause severe pain on cough.
my recommendation would be you can repeat chest x ray , consult physician for further investigation and management.
