Dear Concerned.,
Thanks for writing to us.
As per your history., in all probabality ,you have developed a condition of Joint failure due to ?ageing(not mentioned in your history) or over weight/overwork and this particular condition is also called "Osteoarthritis".Development of Effusion and osteophytes worsens the condition .
The best investigation for the same is X-ray of the parts with AP and lateral views and MRI of knee joints.
Do you have "obesity"/Diabetes/Hypothyroidism? If you have not investigated, Pls do investigate along with other baseline blood/urine tests in addition to the above investigations.
There are two lines in management.,(1)Medical;-Pls reduce your weight by dieting and lifestyle modification.
Give enough rest to the joint by using knee caps/Knee braces/Physiotherapy/Analgesics/Calcium Suppliments/Chondroitin Sulfate/Vit D.
During your hair dressing profession it involves long time of standing, pls do the work in a sitting position and reduce your occupational stress on knee joints.
(2)Surgical; Complete /Total Knee Replacement Surgery by an Orthopedic Surgeon.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.,
Best Regards.,
