Pain On Right Side Under The Lower Part Of Rib Cage, Sharp When Riding A Car. Cause Of Pain? Advice?

I've been having a side ache on the right side, under the lower part of my rib cage. Its sharp, often its when Im riding in the car. However it also hurts some times when im standing up? wondering what is causing this pain. im 50 yrs old female excellent health 5'4" 105 lbs. no allergies or illness. Please advise if possible. THANK YOU

Welcome to HCM.
This type of pain might be due to rt.renal stone or it might be due to some muscular pain during particular movement.muscular pain usually occurs after improper sleeping position,weigh lifting and any unequal movement.
Go for certain investigations like CBC,URINE and usg abdomen to confirm the diagnosis.
You have to take b12 and calcium supplement at this age.
Drink enough water,avoid long drive till complete diagnosis.
Start treatment according to diagnosis under guidance of your doctor.

i can feel your concerns

it seems to be a muscular pain

you can use local analgesic cream over it

cold massage also helpful

donot lift weight

you can use oral painkiller after consulting your doctor

i advise you to consult your doctor for physical examination

you may need few investigations like chest Xray after consulting your doctor
