Pain In Lower Pelvic Area, Feel Pressure And Nauseas. Is It A Pre Menstrual Cramp?

Hi I was wondering why the past five days it hurts in the lower pelvic area mainly on the right side when I m trying to poop and throughout the day I feel pressure all over the pelvic area. I kinda get nauseous after eating too. I m suppose to be starting my period this coming week I didn t know if that had something to do with it or if it s something else.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM!
Thanks for posting your query here.
Pain in the right pelvic area could be an appendicitis, or a right renal colic. Nausea and vomiting are very common in both the conditions. We can see lower abdominal pain, heaviness in the breasts, easily irritable and fatigue in the pre-menstrual syndrome. PMS will start from 5-7 days before the expected period. Do you experience the same problems previously? If this is the first time it need to be evaluated. Is there any white discharge? if it is, you may experience a dull ache in the pelvic area.
An ultrasonogram will rule out both the conditions. If no organic lesion is present then we can go for PMS.
Please consult your gynae for further management.
Hope this is helpful to you.
Regards
