I am trying to decide whether I have shingles or not....I have pain in my lower back going down my left leg. I get this every once and awhile....my doctor said it was shingles...I m hiv+ and I have valtrex to take for it..and I had a slight fever today... advil took away the fever, but not the pain. It feels like a pulled muscle....I m going to the chiropractor on Monday just in case.
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The symptoms you are having are likely to be due to a nerve root compression at the level of spinal cord. The symptoms are not likely to be due to herpes or shingles. Direct examination is necessary for confirmation.
