Pain In Lower Abdomen After Exercising, Blood While Spitting. Is This The Cause For Concern?
Hi, I am Gina. I have been experiencing very bad pain in my lover abdomen lately especially after exercising (spin classes), it gets so bad I have to basically stop and let it go away. I also got some red blood in my spit after that, not for too long nor too much but sill it is there. Should I be concerned and visit my doctor? Many thanks.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Pain in the lower abdomen after exercising or spin classes suggests pain due to muscular stress. Try to take rest in between your exercises. Presence of blood on spitting can occur due to abnormality of the larynx, pharynx or upper aero-tract. Consult an ENT specialist for examination of the throat. An ulcer or any other lesion in the throat can cause blood while spitting. If no abnormality is found, a X-ray of the lung needs to be done. Further investigations will be decided by the result of these investigations.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
