Pain In Face, Headaches After A Sinus Surgery. CAT Scan Showing Blockage. Why Am I In Pain?

Hi, I had sinus surgery on Jan 22nd and I still have pain in my face and headaches . I had a CAT scan on Feb 19 which showed I still have some blockage. My doctor stated that he hopes I m not reverting.... What s going on with me??? Why am I still in pain? I have not gone back to work yet because the pain is still unbearable. Yesterday I started taking 2 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in 8 ounces of water. It hasn t helped yet, but it s worth a try.

hello and welcome to HCM,
You have undergone sinus surgery but if possible please mention for what reason was the surgery performed and what type of surgery.
Assuming that you might have had nose block and headache and sinusitis, and you might have undergone a sinus surgery of the maxillary sinus, i have the following advice for you:
1. Did the doctor mention about alkaline nasal lavage after surgery? if yes do you still continue the same? if you are not continuing that then kindly restart. The lavage really helps to clean out the sinuses. (one litre of warm water with a pinch of baking soda and three pinch of salt is the solution for lavage)
2. Did you undergo a procedure called endoscopic nasal cleaning after surgery? If not then see your ENT and ask him if it can be done.
3. Is the block seen in CT in the sinuses or the nose?
if it is in the sinuses then an endoscopic cleaning may in most of the cases can clean out the sinuses while if the nose is blocked then depending on your symptoms you may need a surgery called the septoplasty.
4. Also as a last but the most important point, headache can be caused by a variety of different causes and sinusitis is one of the rarer causes. If the surgery even if done properly has not improved your headache then in all probability you may be suffering from migraine. Ask your ENT to start or advice on the proper treatment of migraine or ask me again for the same

All in all, recovery after sinus surgery takes some time, so maybe wait for a while.

hope these help

regards
