Pain In Chest, Numb Left Arm. Could I Have Had A Heart Attack?
Aged 23. Last night i got a sharp pain in my chest and my left arm went completely numb, this lasted for close to an hour before i finally fell asleep. This morning i feel fine but everyone i work with thinks i may have had a small heart attack. I m only 23 and I m not overweight, but my family does have a history of heart problems. Any thoughts? i consider myself healthy because i m physically active but yes, i eat entirely too much junkfood.
One of the symptoms of heart attack is "Sweating, which may be extreme". If you had excessive perspiration, then heart attack is suspected.
Other symptoms of a heart attack include:
* Anxiety
* Cough
* Fainting
* Light-headedness, dizziness
* Nausea or vomiting
* Palpitations (feeling like your heart is beating too fast)
* Shortness of breath
Take ECG and consult a cardiologist. Blood tests can help show if you have substances produced by heart tissue damage or a high risk for heart attack. These tests include:
* Troponin I and troponin T
* CPK and CPK-MB
* Serum myoglobin
Please also undergo cardiac stress test (Exercise stress test). If you have any heart problems, you will feel chest pain (angina) again.
