Overweight Had Broken Bones And Tendinitis After An Injury. Want To Be Active. Have Osteoarthritis

Hi,
I am a 57 year old female, in good health. I am about 10-15 lbs over weight, moderate activity, I eat mostly organic veggies, some meat and basically try to eat well. I have less activity over the years due to injuries, broken bones, tendonitis, muscle strain.... So frustrated! Want to be more active, and not hurt. I've know I have some osteoarthritis and have read that I may have brittle tendons. What can I do to age healthy, and be fit?

greetings friend, it sounds like you are doing excellent work at keeping her body fit. I would recommend you increase the exercise to include low weightbearing exercise like walking or swimming or an elliptical cross trainer if you have access to this which will be easier on your tendons. Usually this helps to avoid injury much better than more demanding activities like running or tennis or soccer, which are much more straining to the body , ligaments tendons and bones.you should take as a supplement 500 mg twice a day of calcium with food and vitamin D 1000 units daily. This is for bone health. Cheers.
