On Medication For Angular Cheilitis. Redness, Burning After Using Prescribed Ketoconazole With Desonide. Opinion?

My sister was taking a prescription ointment at one time or possibly two ointments mixed together for redness and scaly rough skin around her mouth--diagnosed as angular cheilitis. A doctor, yesterday, prescribed ketoconazole 2% ointment to mix in equal amounts with
desonide .05% yesterday to apply to lines around her mouth and corners of mouth. She's having some burning and more redness in this area. Previously, when I applied some anti-fungal ointment that I had, her skin had the same reaction--more redness and burning. Do you think it could be the anti-fungal cream that's causing the redness and burning again and the steroid ointment alone would be better?
