On Antibiotics For Fever And Cold, Have Sudden Onset Of Throat Infection And Nasal Block. Treatment Suggestion?
Hi, I am suffering from cold . Few days before I suffered from fever with the below symptoms: 1. Cold 2. Throat Infection 3. Cough 4. Fever 5. Sudden block of nostrils. I went to doctor and had some antibiotics and I was well. But now suddenly after a week I got throat infection and cold started again and now the nostrils are getting blocked. Could you please suggest some treatment.

antibiotics in cold can opacify the secretions of siuses sinuses
when it disslves it fall back in the throat causing soar throat
irritation causing cough and infection auses fever
get metronidazole 200 mg bd for 7 days
anti allergic tab to reduce secretions in sinuses
antiallergic and bronchodilator ciough syp for cough
analgesic sos for pain and fever
continue 3 week

Since you are c/o frequent throat infection as well as nasal block,a thorough check up to evaluate tonsillitis as well as sinusitis has to be done.
Cetirizine is usually prescribed to relieve nasal block.
For cough as well as throat infection,cough syrup with dextromethorphan is usually administered.
Avoid intake of cold fluids as well as foods.
Gargle frequently with lukewarm saline.
Avoid exposure to cold climates.
