Odour In Armpit Caused By Excessive Sweating Even Though Am Very Hygienic. Affecting Confidence Levels. Is There A Remedy?

Hi Doctor,

I am facing armpit odour from some years.
Its really humiliating seeing my colleagues react to my odour.
I had consulted couple of skin specialist 2 years back but their medications didn't work.
Doctors had prescribed me with antibacterial soaps and powder and even some vitamin tablets.
Have tried many home remedies but that too didn't help me much.
I take bath twice a day i.e in the morning and at night after I come back from office.
And even shave my armpits once in 2 weeks.

One thing I have noticed is that my armpits become sticky once I sweat and then I see a good number of people reacting to my odour.
But I sweat a lot which is a hereditary character. I don't have any problems with my sweating but want to curb this odour issue which is affecting my confidence level alot.
It would be of great help if I get a solution.

Thanks & Regards,
Sandeep

Hi Dear.Having bad odour is a mental burden itself. You are supposed to do the following things to get rid of this problem.
1.always use an antibacterial soap for bathing and always Use a fresh towel every day and make sure you air dry it thoroughly after use to kill the bacteria.
2. Try to wear clothes that let you breathe easily, like cotton and avoid synthetic material.
3.shave your armpits every week.
4.After taking shower sprinkle baking soda in your armpits this will neutralise the odour.
5.another alternative is to apply fresh lemon juice to underarms after wiping and drying your underarms.
6.eating healthy food that contain whole grains, green veggies, fruits ,soy products and nuts.
7.avoid alcohol caffine ,cumin and garlic.
8.drink plenty of water.
9.add raddish to your daily food.
hopefully you will very soon get rid of your problem.stay happy and healthy.
