Numbness Below Kneecap, Slight Pain, Sore Calves Due To Excessive Walking. Cure?
I have slight numbness starting just below my kneecap to the top of my shin. I can feel it when I touch it. I thought it had fallen asleep but after moving it hasn t gone away.. There is also slight pain. On Wednesday I walked a lot back and forth, more than usual as a teacher, which caused my calves to be sore. Thursday I was fine. This started Friday at 6pm... Thoughts?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for writing to us
Always warm up before exercising and cool down afterward. Stretch your quadriceps and hamstrings. Avoid running straight down hills -- walk down instead. Bicycle or swim instead of run. Reduce the amount of exercise you do. Run on a smooth, soft surface, such as a track, instead of on cement. Lose weight if you are overweight. If you have flat feet, try special shoe inserts and arch supports. Make sure your running shoes are made well, fit well, and have good cushioning.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
