Numbness And Swelling In Sprained Ankle. Chiropractic Advised Swelling Causes Numbness. Swelling Disappeared, Still Numbness Present

Fell off a roof, grade 3 sprained ankle. Three weeks post injury. Have had no sensation in my foot running up to my big toe and the remainder of the top of the foot is like pins and needles when I put weight on the foot. Bruising is subsiding but the swelling still comes when I have my foot down. Range of motion is pretty good, a little stiff. Foot turns purple when I initially start walking. I have been seeing a sports medicine chiropractor who said the numbness was due to the swelling; but there has been no change even though the swelling across the top of my foot has disappeared.

along with the sprained ankle u could have got the damage to the cutaneous nerve supply to that part of the foot or it may be due to transient neuropraxia due to the swelling.this would subside slowly n u will regain the sensations to ur foot in due course.I would advise u to take some multi vitamin tablets especially having b 1 , b2,b6,b12.
