Hello, The goal of treatment is to .. Bring back your normal functions of hands Address other associated causes Prevent muscle damage. Modality of treatment depends upon the seriousness of your condition and whether nerve damage is there or not. If you are not getting relieved by conservative methods like anti inflammatory drugs, wrist splint and local injections of corticosteroids, then you can opt for surgery. In surgery ligament in the roof of carpal tunnel is cut which results in release in pressure on median nerve and this results in relief to the symptoms. Consult an orthopedician and discuss with him in detail. There is nothing to worry as this shall be all right. Best of luck Thanks
