hi there
am dr.surendran
nice to meet you here in HCMagic
i completely understand your problem
Frequent coughing usually indicates the presence of a disease. Many viruses and bacteria benefit evolutionarily by causing the host to cough, which helps to spread the disease to new hosts. Most of the time, coughing is caused by a respiratory tract infection but can be triggered by smoking, asthma, gastro esophageal reflux disease, post-nasal drip, chronic bronchitis, lung tumors, heart failure and medications such as ACE inhibitors.
investigations like
1 sputum culture
2 xray
3 spirometry
will guide you to diagnosis
treatment depends on the cause
hope helped your query

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Mayank Bhargava's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the posting your query.
You are most likely suffering from upper respiratory tract infection ; mostly viral in nature.
You should consult with internal medicine specialist and should go for thorough check up.
You should go for chest x ray, complete hemogram and ESR.
Pin in chest may be due to lower respiratory infection or due to muscle sprain.
You should take cough suppressants, decongestants, throat soothing and antipyretics.
You should also take muscle relaxants also.
You should also perform gargles three times in a day.
Take care,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
