Need Medication For Lipoma On The Outer Upper Thigh

Hi,
I have a lipoma on the outer upper thigh. I've had it for over 15 years. I've not worried about it so far as It does not cause any discomfort. However recently it has been slowly getting bigger and it's turning red in the last few weeks. I tried an antibiotic course and the redness reduced. However once the antibiotic course was completed, the redness has returned. Can you please let me know what this could be ?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,
Since the swelling has not significantly increased in size for the last 15 years, it is clear that it is a benign swelling.

REDNESS AND INCREASE IN SIZE: Redness may be an indication of secondary infection and the fact that a course of antibiotics has reduced it confirms it.

Increase in size( if slow ) may still be a benign swelling but if there is sudden significant increase then we need to rule out malignant transformation of benign swelling.

Definite diagnosis can be made only by proper clinical diagnosis. Please consult your orthopaedician for thorough clinical evaluation.
