ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, thanks for your query.
In my opinion, your both sons might have nasal allergy.
Hypertrophied nasal turbinates with nose block, mouth breathing, sneezing all goes in favour of allergic rhinitis.
Treatment is steroid nasal spray, fluticasone propionate/mometazone furoate , twice a day will help to reduce the size of turbinates.
Along with this you can take antihistamines + antileukotriene drugs like monteleukast
Once a day for 2 months.
For adults, if the turbinates doesn't shrink with medicines we advise surgery to excise the partial turbinates.
For children it is not advisable upto 18 years of age.
