My Name Is Gunther Than & My Wife's Father Who

My name is Gunther Than & my wife's father who is 91 had a fall and injured his lower back (slipped disk)
which obviously cause great pain. The point of my question is the pain medicine hydrocodone alleviated his pain but he was a heavy coffee drinker and consequently he became very constipated to point of where they had clear out his stool mechanically. Of course one thing led to another and now he is hospitalized and the list of medicines is almost endless. He also has heart issues and the cardiologist will not give permission to fix the herniaded disk with a nerve block because the cardiologist obviously does not want to take the risk because part of the man's regimen is coumadin, clopidogrel, etc...
Its the etc.. that concerns his family and of course myself.
I have noticed that they are also giving him escitalopram (Lexapro) and it seems the side effects would also be of great concern considering his heart issues. He is now delusional and combative. He has not been mentally infirm or with dementia previously (very sound mentally). We are getting him moved out of the present hospital (he is of course is on medicare & with vet benefits (a purple 2x purple heart recipient)) in Memphis to a better hospital. I could send a complete list of the medicine he is receiving.
Is this question beyond what this advice service offers???
