My Husband Stated Taking Symbicort Two Weeks Ago. Unfortunately He

My husband stated taking symbicort two weeks ago. Unfortunately he went into an acute psychosis yesterday, approx. 5 days after stopping the symbicort. When we took him to the ED I found out he had been taking it as a rescue inhaler, several times a day as opposed to the BID as instructed. He has been sleepless, anxious, had tinnitus, and experienced erectile dysfunction once. All of which are new to him except the anxiety, which has been going on for one year. Anxiety has been d/t extended family issues and he is also self employed, and has a very heavy burden for the last 12 months as mentioned. He is the eldest of 4 children and 52 years of age, great physical shape and has asthma and hypercholerstolemia. Only takes albuterol inhaler PRN and now Symbicort when his primary deems necessary. My question is can the over use of symbicort have caused the psychosis?
