My Husband Has Been Treated For An Ear Infection, Both

My husband has been treated for an ear infection, both ears, for two weeks. When he first started using the ciprodex he would have bright red blood for a few minutes after. Now I can see his eardrum in his left ear but not his right. It's just looks like a big scabbard over the eardrum should be. Is it safe to try to flush it? He has significant hearing loss right now.
